Corrado Calabro, head of the telecommunications regulatory authority in Italy, has criticized a draft government decree aimed at filtering or blocking of broadcasting of audiovisual content on the Internet or TV channels, according to international media. “There are issues to be reviewed because they are not in accordance with European directives, adopted in 2007,” said Calabro. The decree, which could be approved by the Government on February 5, could require satellite television channels to encode the contents pornography during the day, even those for which is paid subscription.
